On August 1, 2025, Professor Alexander Dvorkin, one of the world’s leading experts in the study of sects and cults, visited the Missionary Department of the Archdiocese of Belgrade–Karlovci.
During the visit, members of the Missionary Department and Professor Dvorkin exchanged valuable experiences concerning sectarian and manipulative activities currently present in both Russia and Serbia. Professor Dvorkin shared some of his significant insights and offered practical recommendations for further work in this important field. Particularly noteworthy was his lecture titled The Phenomenon, Process, and Reasons for Entering a Sect, in which he thoroughly elaborated on the psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions of this complex issue. The lecture, delivered on the premises of the Missionary Department, was recorded on video and will be made available to a wider audience following translation.

As part of a longer, informal and friendly exchange, potential avenues for future collaboration between the Missionary Department of the Archdiocese of Belgrade–Karlovci and Professor Dvorkin were also discussed.
It was a special honour to host such a distinguished and internationally recognized expert in the fields of history, comparative theology, and the study of sectarian and manipulative phenomena.
