The Section for External Mission of the Missionary Department of the Archdiocese of Belgrade–Karlovci continues its monthly lecture series in English as part of the NevskyTalks project. The lectures are primarily aimed at foreign nationals living in Belgrade who are interested in Orthodox Christianity. Recently, these events have also become available for interactive online participation via a special link shared directly with the audience.
On Wednesday, 30 April 2025 at 6:30 p.m., a new lecture in English was held on the premises of the Missionary Department, within the parish hall of the Church of Saint Alexander Nevsky. The topic of the lecture was “Christ Our Pascha”, and it was delivered by Deacon Dr Đorđe Petrović, professor of dogmatics at the Saint Sava Orthodox Theological Seminary in Belgrade. The moderator was David Đorđević, permanent expert associate of the Section for External Mission, who had previously lectured within the NevskyTalks project on the topic of Orthodoxy in the United States. The event marked the continuation of the English-language lecture series within the NevskyTalks project, following the Great Lent.
The lecture was attended by around 15 foreign nationals, who, after the inspired presentation by the eloquent speaker, asked questions and actively engaged in the discussion. One member of the NevskyTalks group, currently residing outside Serbia, participated in the event via the Microsoft Teams platform. The lecture and the subsequent dialogue lasted for approximately two hours in total, and those present expressed a strong interest in a follow-up session on the same topic with the same lecturer in the near future.
Thanks to the fruitful collaboration between the Missionary Department and Hram Television, the entire event was professionally recorded and will be broadcast in accordance with the schedule of this church media outlet, which has recently begun including content in the English language. In this way, the lecture will be made globally accessible.
