A Series of Apologetic Lectures and Professional Consultations for Religious Education Teachers

In cooperation with the Committee for Religious Education, the Apologetics Section of the Missionary Department of the Archdiocese of Belgrade–Karlovci has initiated a series of lectures and professional consultations intended for teachers of religious education.

The first lecture in this series was held on 26 November 2025 on the premises of the AEM Missionary Department. The topic, selected at the initiative of the teachers themselves, was “Anti-cult Engagement in the Context of the Secular School and the Imperative of Religious Tolerance.” The speakers were Slobodan Spasić and Andrej Protić (permanent expert associates of the Apologetics Section) and Zoran Luković (Section Coordinator). The lecture was attended by representatives of the Religious Education Teachers’ Active from the municipalities of Voždovac, Čukarica, and Rakovica.

The lecturers succeeded, in a substantive and dynamic manner, in capturing and sustaining the attention of the attending religious education teachers. Their interest gave rise to a lively exchange of ideas, reflected in the large number of questions posed—so many, in fact, that the lecture exceeded the scheduled time by a large margin. After the main part of the programme, the attending teachers continued to express, share, and comment on their insights, experiences, and ideas.

The premises of the AEM Missionary Department thus became, in the true sense of the word, a centre of fraternal exchange of missionary knowledge and experience—a place of encounter between theologians-educators and the experts within our Church who are directly engaged in the field of apologetic activity.

We look forward with joy to welcoming the teachers at the upcoming lectures and professional consultations.
