Saint Basil of Ostrog – the Inspirer of the Mission of the “Kinonia” Portal

This year again we celebrated the feast of Saint Basil the Miracle-Worker of Ostrog, a saint who stands as the most wondrous witness of Christ’s Resurrection and a divinely wise inspirer of the Church’s mission in all its forms.

The missionary portal “Kinonia”, established by the Missionary Department of the Archdiocese of Belgrade and Karlovci, contributed to the celebration of this feast of the most beloved saint of our people through special content published on the very day of the feast, both in spoken and written form.

Saint Basil of Ostrog, during his earthly life and even after his repose—until this very day—has remained a true and divinely inspired guide in proclaiming the Word of God. The miracle-worker of Ostrog is the protector of all collaborators and co-workers of the “Kinonia” missionary portal; we look to him as our model, we follow his example, and illuminated by his glory, we proclaim the Gospel. Although Saint Basil of Ostrog has not yet been officially designated as the patron of the “Kinonia” portal, all our collaborators joyfully anticipate his feast day, call upon him in their prayers, perceive him as a guide in their missionary service to the Church, and glorify him with the words of the Akathist hymn: Rejoice, for you have shown apostolic labour
