The Section for Dialogue in the Public Sphere of the AEM Missionary Department organised a panel discussion on the following topic: “Relationship Models between Faith and Science – conflict and mutual exclusion, concordance, non-overlapping magisteria (NOMA concept), partially-overlapping magisteria (POMA concept), or something entirely different?”
The panel guest speakers were:
- Father Stevan Jovanovic, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Religious Education of the Belgrade and Karlovci Archbishopric;
- Jovana Zagorac, a Chemistry Professor at the Zemun Gymnasium;
- Marko Djosic, a Master of Physical Chemistry, a PhD student at the Faculty of Physical Chemistry, University of Belgrade, and a research assistant at the Institute of Nuclear Sciences in Vinca;
- Valerijan Matvejev, a Software Engineer, a student of International Master Studies in Computer Vision at Ecole Polytechnique, University of Nantes, France (currently on practice at the Innovation Centre of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade and the Institute of Oncology and Radiology of the Clinical Centre of Serbia), a member of the association “Philosophical Gardens” and one of the organisers of philosophical therapy at the Student City Cultural Centre;
- Deacon Dr. Aleksandar Milojkov, Coordinator of the Section for Dialogue in the Public Sphere of the Belgrade and Karlovci Archbishopric Missionary Department and a moderator of the panel discussion.
The panel took place on March 10, 2024, in the large parish house hall of the Saint Alexander Nevsky Temple, at 6.30pm.
