By the providence of God, and with the blessing of His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, on the feast of the Beginning of the Indiction—the Ecclesiastical New Year—and on the commemoration of Saint Simeon the Stylite, 1/14 September 2024, the portal Koinonia commenced its work at the address: https://kinonija.rs/
The very name of the missionary portal Kinonia testifies to its purpose, which is missionary activity directed towards guiding people into communion with the Lord, with all the saints, and with one another in the Holy Eucharist. The logo of the portal depicts a dome with a cross at its summit, conveying the message that our missionary activity directs readers towards ecclesial communion, which is possible only beneath the sacred vaults of the temple (the dome).
The conceptual founder and editor of the portal is catechist Branislav Ilić, permanent associate of the Section for Electronic Mission of the Missionary Department of the Archdiocese of Belgrade–Karlovci.
Permanent collaborators and contributors of texts and other materials include hierarchs, priests, catechists, theologians, as well as scholars from the fields of philosophy, history, culture, music, visual arts, and others. Through both written and spoken word, the missionary portal Kinonia carries out its apostolic work, the foundation of which is the proclamation of the Gospel and the unaltered teaching of the Church, with the aim that its mission and activity direct all towards the life of grace in the Church of Christ, that is, towards the Mystery of mysteries—the Holy Liturgy.
The portal Kinonia successfully fulfills its mission by leading people into communion with our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (Jn. 14:6). We place our hope in the Lord, the Guide and Inspirer of our mission, that this blessed work may, for many good years, be a testimony to the truth of the words of the divinely wise Apostle Paul, who loudly proclaims that “faith comes by hearing” (Rom. 10:17).
