The grace-filled life of the Church, manifested through the holy Mysteries, is understood as the realization of communion with Christ. This sacred bond between the Church and the holy Mysteries can be comprehended only in the light of the intrinsic relationship between the Church and the Eucharist. In this spirit, the renowned Dionysius the Areopagite speaks of the Eucharist as the Mystery above all Mysteries, which stands at the heart of all the holy Mysteries, thereby indicating that the entire sacramental life is both grounded in and crowned by the Mystery of Mysteries—the Holy Eucharist. The Divine Liturgy gives meaning to the holy Mysteries, for it contains within itself the whole mystery of salvation. Guided by this truth, the Christian ethos and participation in the Eucharist represent, in history, here and now, the fullness of both freedom and love, which are abundantly bestowed upon us by the perfect Giver of good things, our philanthropic Lord. For this reason, Saint Theodore the Studite reminds us that the Holy Liturgy is a recapitulation of the entire divine-human economy of salvation.
Attentive to the need of the contemporary person to penetrate the significance of the sacramental, grace-filled life in the Church of Christ, starting from 3 January 2026 the Kinonia portal will make available broadcasts from the series “Sacramental Theology,” conceived and authored by the catechist Branislav Ilić. With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan of Bačka, Dr Irinej, these broadcasts were produced within three series as part of the programme of Radio Beseda, the official media outlet of the Diocese of Bačka. The broadcasts will be published every Saturday in the category Living Word, that is, in the subcategory Broadcasts.
