At the invitation of Protopresbyter Dragan Stokin, the parish priest of the Ascension of Our Lord Church in Subotica, on May 16, 2024, the Director of the Missionary Department of the Archbishopric of Belgrade and Karlovci, Presbyter Dr. Oliver Subotic, gave a lecture on the topic “The Problems of Digital Violence and the Ways to Resolve Them” as part of the “Spirit and Culture” event, in the Grand Hall of the Subotica Town Hall.
The “Spirit and Culture” event was initiated by the Protopresbyter Dragan Stokin, with the intention of educating the population at large that the authentic, living faith in the Living God represents the true and authentic foundation of both cultivation and culture. The theme of this year’s event is: “Can the artistic freedom and creative rebellion become an incitement to evil, and at what point?”

The desire of the event organisers was to demonstrate that very often contemporary art, as well as literature, the pseudo-philosophical trends, and generally all the creators of social trends (such as technology, fashion etc.) which under the guise of freedom follow the ugly, the sick and the destructive aesthetic, in actual fact directly promote evil.
The event’s last week’s lecture was given by the Coordinator for the Apologetic Mission Section of the Archbishopric’s Missionary Department, the religious studies expert, Zoran Lukovic.
