Following the cooperation between the Section for Dialogue in the Publuc Sphere of the Missionary Department of the Archdiocese of Belgrade-Karlovci and the Orthodox online platform (Žive reči), an online-streamed programme was broadcast on the topic: “Logoi Spermatikoi – Evidence of Our Time.”
This insightful programme was hosted by Protopresbyter Ivan Cvetković, editor of the Orthodox portal Living Words, while the featured speaker was Presbyter Dr Aleksandar Milojkov, coordinator of the Section for Dialogue in the Public Sphere of the Missionary Department.
In the broadcast, Fr Aleksandar related the teaching of Saint Justin Martyr and Philosopher (2nd century) on the logoi spermatikoi (“seed-like words”) with the reflections of contemporary scientists—particularly the views of a renowned physicist Michio Kaku—thus illustrating the enduring truth of this ancient Christian teaching.
The central question explored in the programme was the following: Christ is “the Way, the Truth, and the Life,” and the fullness of all truth and knowledge is found in Him. But is it, to some extent, possible for truth to be present even in those who are not Christians? Has the creation of man by and in the image of the Logos left sparks of the Logos—and therefore sparks of goodness and truth—in every human being, according to their participation in Reason/the Logos?
