Dialogue on the topic: “Saint Porphyrios of Kavsokalyvia: Life, Legacy, and Spiritual Heritage”

The Section for external missionof the Missionary Department of the Archdiocese of Belgrade–Karlovci continues its series of regular monthly lectures in English as part of the NevskyTalks project. These events are organized in the form of open dialogue and discussion and are intended for foreign nationals living in Belgrade who are interested in learning more about Orthodox Christianity.

On Thursday, 6 August 2026, beginning at 7:00 p.m., a discussion in English entitled “Saint Porphyrios of Kavsokalyvia: Life, Legacy, and Spiritual Heritage” will be held in the courtyard of the Church of Saint Alexander Nevsky.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Christopher Lockwood.

Introductory remarks will be offered by Presbyter Dr. Oliver Subotić, Head of the Missionary Department of the АЕМ.

The event will be moderated by Nektarios Mina-Guevara, an English language instructor from Mexico.

Professor Christopher Lockwood completed his Ph.D. in Orthodox Theology at Aristotle University in Greece. He is a theologian in the Orthodox Church and taught as a professor in the Master’s program at the University of Saint Katherine. He has written extensively on symbolism in the Orthodox tradition.
