On Sunday, 22 March 2026, in the ceremonial hall of the St Sava Parish House in Gajdobra, Mr Branislav Ilić, catechist at the Secondary School of Design “Bogdan Šuput” and the School of Economics “Svetozar Miletić” in Novi Sad, as well as the editor of the “Kinonia” portal, delivered a lecture within the Lenten lecture series organised by the Church Municipality in Gajdobra, on the topic “The Triodion – A Guide through the Fast (Hymnography of Great Lent).”
The lecturer was welcomed by Presbyter Miladin Božilović, a parish priest in Gajdobra, who expressed his gratitude for the former’s active manifestation of love and participation in the Lenten lecture series. Fr Miladin introduced the topic to those gathered and emphasized the importance of active participation in the liturgical life.
At the beginning of his address, catechist Branislav Ilić expressed his gratitude to the presiding parish priest and to the faithful who had gathered in great number. According to him, Lenten lectures represent a great spiritual treasure, offering an opportunity to be continually reminded of the significance of Great Lent and of our ascetic endeavour during these most blessed days.
In the first part of his lecture, the speaker spoke about Great Lent as an arena of virtues, as well as about our spiritual struggle, which becomes concrete and intensified during the days of the Holy Forty Days. He reminded those present that fasting implies a wholehearted participation aimed at repentance and spiritual transformation.
