In cooperation between the Section for Dialogue in the Public Sphere of the Missionary Department of the Archdiocese of Belgrade-Karlovci and the Orthodox internet portal “Living Words”, an online broadcast was streamed on February 18, 2025, on the topic “Faith in the Old and New Testament.”
The programme was hosted by Protopresbyter Ivan Cvetković, the editor of “Living Words”, while the guest speaker was Priest Dr. Aleksandar Milojkov, coordinator of the Section for Dialogue in the Public Sphere of the Missionary Department.
During the discussion, Father Alexander reflected on the manifestations of living faith in the key Old and New Testament figures:
- Patriarch Abraham,
- Righteous Job,
- King David,
- The Most Holy Theotokos,
- Saint Peter the Apostle, and ultimately,
- The God-Man, Jesus Christ, whose human suffering was the ultimate expression of faith- unshakable trust in God the Father.
Faith was explored through examples of unwavering trust in God despite great trials, examples of repentance and forgiveness, as well as love and justice.
The discussion culminated with a theological conclusion, emphasizing that Orthodox Christian faith is founded upon the Resurrection of Christ, “without which our faith is in vain.” The Resurrection uniquely reconciles love and forgiveness on the one hand, with justice and the vindication of the innocent on the other. The Resurrection of Christ reveals that God is truly both the God of Love and the God of Justice.
The broadcast received significant viewership and was met with overwhelmingly positive comments from the audience.
